The Pre-School program
is divided into Pre-School I for kids 3 to 4 years old, and Pre-School
II for kids 4 to 5 years old. The teacher/child ratio set at one caregiver
to ten children. There may be one or two classrooms as attendance requires.
Scheduled Activities:
A daily schedule is posted
in each room. Your child will participate in a variety of planned activities,
such as:
-
Working
with paints, clay, crayons, blocks and other manipulative materials.
-
Enjoying stories, poetry, dramatization, plays,
videos, CD’s, tapes, and books
-
Learning to share, take turns, plan, work, and
play with others.
-
Learning to respond rhythmically to music, singing,
new songs, and listening to different kinds of music.
-
Field trips are planned throughout the year.
Most are “walking trips” nearby our school, such as the public library,
firehouse, bakery, post office, Kroger, or Stanbery Park.
-
Outside playtime is an important part of your
child’s day. Our playgrounds and many “riders” and trikes await!
-
Inside
and out, we have equipment for large muscle development, so climbing and
stretching will challenge your healthy child.
-
Our teaches present activities in pre-science,
including experiments, sensory perception, and learning about living things.
-
Pre-math experience.
-
Cooking experience.
Food and Clothing:
Two snacks and a hot lunch are provided. Any food your child is allergic
to should be written down in the child’s records, and communicated to the
teacher. Any special diets must be requested in writing by the child’s
doctor. You will need to bring two complete changes of clothes, a cot sheet,
and a small blanket. You’ll need to launder the blanket and sheet each
week. Each child will have a cubby for personal items.
